"Local Girl Makes Fool of Herself"
Yeah, that's what happens when celebrities come to town! lol
They are filming Extreme Makeover HOme Addition in our city this week. I love this show! I totally cry every time I watch it. Today, after I took Samantha to school I wandered on over there. Well actually, my sister called me and said they were in town checking things out and asked if I wanted to come on over. My sister works for a small local newspaper so she and her co-worker had press passes. I thought "oh great! I'll be standing by myself lookin like an idiot!" But hey, I went anyway ;-)
Well it didn't take long and my sister pointed out Paul to me. He actually looked like he was keepin kinda busy, he walked around quite a bit. Well, when I got there it ended up I could stand right in front of the media tent so I did. Well, today there was some celebrity interviewing going on. Apparently, the word on the street was {Ty} took the day off so that dashed a couple hopes but it was still kinda fun to hang out. They were interviewing the new guy joining the show (I think his name is John) when I got there. This is actually the new guys first build. But I didn't get a pic when he left as I was watching Paul. So, I'm watching Paul being busy and I suddenly spot him...loooks like he's going to walk right past me to the Media tent for his interview. So I snapped my pic and {darn} if somebody didn't walk right in front of him! So, I hurry to try again and I think it was the combination of me moving so much figuring I was going to miss my shot & him walking because the picture came out so dark but I'm including it anyway! lol
OMG!!! He TALKED to ME!!!!!! I snapped my pic and *might or might not* have exclaimed "GOT HIM!" and he said "hey, how ya doin?" I'm like "Good, how are you" to which he smiled. And then I said, "thanks for letting me take your picture!!" (Like he had a choice?!?!?! ROFLMBO!!!) and As, he's walking away.....I'm such a dork! I didn't think I said it that loud but my sister informed me she heard me over at the tent...ack! what a loud mouth some ND chic is! But so here's the pic..... (dark and blurry but it's Paul walking right up to me)
ON THE SCENE..... Tha's Paul standing about front middle of the photo, wearing the tan vest and he's looking at the house and talking to some lady. Miiiight you take a guess who that small blonde chic is, standing waaay back in front of the fence in the lower right of the photo???? that would be me :D

The House.... Oh me oh my! if that was my house, Guess what that triangular loft with the awesome windows in the middle would be????? OI, yes...scrappy room indeed my friend :)

He was so sweet to them too! even crouched down more to their level so he could put his arms around them...pretty sweet I say!

I'm pretty proud of my self for getting this shot! lol
And so there it is, pictures of an Extreme HOme Makeover in progress. The family has a disabled son who has cerebral palsy. The way their house was set up before, they carried their son around alot in their house because it wasn't so wheel chair freindly. The dad works at Target and has recently had 2 heart attacks and now all the of carrying the child fell on the mother as the father wasn't supposed to do any lifting. So that's a little background of their story.
And a new music! I just think this song and video are funny :D

More Trip Pics since Blogspot is not being a PITA ;-)
I just knew blogger would do this after I moved my story to Xanga! pfft!
These ocean ones were from my film camera and then scanned. If I'ld have been thinking, in my right mind or basically not blonde...... I would have had them put them on cd when I got them developed, that would have been better quality...but oh well!

This was an old train station in Old Sacramento, it really gave you that feeling of "100 years ago" I could picture people collecting their things and buying tickets...kinda neat
This was us waiting to cross the bridge into San Francisco. thank goodness for there were some nice people who figured it out, I was actually trying to stay with these yahoos!

This one's for my sista! lol....the one time I was greatly lost, at least Ron didn't let me get lost by myself, we got lost together. When we pulled over to call BIL (he had a GPS unit), I was like "By digger that's the San Francisco Newspaper!"...what are the odds??? I gotta take a picture of that for my sis!

So, I ended up with a roll and a half of film and then some digitals, half of which Samantha took! lol.....guess I just wasn't in the picture taking mood. I am going to get alot more digitals that my "future SIL" took from the motorcycle. So, I won't be without pics. I got the important stuff tho I think. There is one I took that didn't turn out that was us crossing the border back into North Dakota :)
But the picture got too much glare to read the sign. Samantha and I both cheered and she said "Mom, beep the horn!" so I couldn't resist! lol
We were both happy to be home! It was kinda funny all the way home she kept saying "I can't wait to get home mom, so I can do whatever I want!" Then in the next breath she would be talking on her Barbie cell phone and say "Mom, we have to go back to the Golden Gate Bridge, my friend is going to meet me there at 5 o'clock!"
LOL...silly Samantha! But she really just was super good. She's a good traveler & entertains herself well in the car. I had dug a Crayola Wonder set out of the closet my sister had given her probably like a couple years ago. But at the time she had a fairly new set so I put this one away for another time. Well got it out for the trip & she was just so impressed. Kept telling me I was the best mom. I told her she had Auntie B to thank for that one, really :)
But I was glad I remembered it so she had something new for the trip. Plus she got spoiled with things on the trip....including some Littlest Pet Shop sets and game. And a dog puppet that we got from a store in Old Sacramento.....she cut the strings off already (only took about an hour out of the package!) because she wanted him to be "a normal dog & be able to sleep in her bed without getting all tangled up" lol
And so ends our trip saga. Things here have pretty much returned to normal. I finally got the last of my car cleaned last nite. And the day after tomorrow school starts and I will be a mother of a 1st grader! I'm not ready at all, I'm going to cry big time! Where does the time go? A first grader that wants to grow up. A first grader that when asked tonite if she wanted to make her mother cry replied "unfortunately, yes"........A first grader who is so darn picky when it come to food but has decided she will try having school lunch as opposed to bringing lunch. A first grader who I hope is more ready to take this step than I am. A 1st grader, I love dearly with all my heart :)
But I tell you here and now, it doesn't pay to procrastinate when buying school supplies, as I found out today. Wal-Mart, Target & K-Mart were all out of the specific notebooks she needs. (2 notebooks, one blue... one green... wide rule...non-perforated) geeze how hard can that be??? lol...So, I'll try some smaller stores tomorrow like the drug store & office supply. So, I am short 2 notebooks off her school supply list. oops! I hope we can find them soon.

Our Trip,MIni Golf, Go-karts & even Ty Pennington :)
Apparently today blogspot is letting me upload photos! ARGH....I've spent a week and a half trying to get pics of my trip to upload but nothing. Yet, I've been able to get other pics to upload. maybe blogspot doesn't like my trip pics! lol...
anyway, I finally blogged about my trip but just moved it over to Xanga the link is

Samantha at a store in Old Sacramento.....My brother loves Star Wars so I thought he would appreciate a pic of his neice as Princess Laya (not sure of correct spelling there! lol)
So Sunday, we took Samantha to play mini golf for the first time and then daddy took her on a go-Kart ride. She loved the go-kart. She did pretty good at mini golf, too. She has such a competitive side and I don't know where she gets it from. Seriously, Ron and I are not competitive. She's even taken to cheating or bending the rules so she wins. I don't know what to do. She gets down on herself if she "thinks" she's losing. I told her before we even got out of the car, we are not playing to win...just for fun! "ok, she says" but by second hole she had a little pout & "I'm not good at this" and tosses her club down! ack! So, I reminded her again "it's just for fun Samantha" and then she pressed on......but still disappointed in herself. I feel bad for her, I don't know how to give her that self confidence or whatever she needs to feel good about herself. Well ok, so that's that & here's some pics tho!
Finally, Ty Pennington! I love Extreme Home Makeover & that Ty is such a cutie :)

What time is it in Montana?
Yup, that's what's on my mind. Well, it's 5pm here so that means it's 4pm in Montana. Right now, there is a wedding taking place that I really wanted to attend. It is that of my onilne scrappy friend, Jen. But because of time and cash constraints(we just returned from a long trip, that ended up costing us more in gas and hotel fees than anticipated) here I sit 10 hours away.......wishing I was in Montana.
I know I'll get to see pics tho and I am very excited for that but it's just not the same. I guess I am just taking this harder than I thought I would.
It's so weird because I've never met Jen personally. She has just been such a wonderful friend and person in my life lately that I just really wanted to share her special day with her.
So I'm going to share Jen's scrappy blog (hope that's ok with Jen!) anyway, I have to share the most awesome BOM page that she did!! She is fab photographer, she has just such a great eye for detail. I just love this page. Luv everything about it from the totally cute Heidi Swapp rub-ons & (cuter than cute) use of said rub-ons to the fun Basic Grey paper to the wonderfully heartfelt journaling. Instead of going to a wedding we attempted to go kite flying, which there wasn't enough wind to keep the kites up so ended up giving up the idea of that. We ended up playing a game of frisbee golf instead (which I had never heard of until today!lol) all the while being attacked and bitten by no see-um gnats. I absolutely hate ND bugs! Instead of eating wedding cake, I had a Turtle Cheesecake Bar...ok sue me, I had 2! Altho yummilicious, I would have rather had wedding cake in Montana.
So, to bring my post to a close..... Jen, Jen, Jennerssssss.......I hope you're having the most wonderful wedding day ever!!

Did ya see Jon Bon Jovi on Larry King last nite????
I'm sorry but that guy is still "one Hottie McHotstuff!!!!" Uff-da :DI don't watch much tv but I'm glad I caught some of his interview.
How can one not just love that smile??? I love watching him on tv because he just seems so darn personable. and then he even sang :)
Well it brought lots of High School memories back for me.
My best friend and I were so totally in love with all things Bon Jovi. Good times my friend, yes....Good Times!
