How will I know YOU were here, if you don't say Hi???

Well, the birthday part went good yesterday. I ended up staying until 8pm visiting with my friend. Dh went ice fishing to need to rush home. Here is the blanket I made for Colton. Looking at it now in the picture, it sorta reminds me of candy corn! lol... his favorite color is orange, so I wanted to do that for the solid color but they were very limited in what they had for patterns for boys unless I wanted to go with another solid color. so, I went with this black & white pattern.

Not much going on today. Spent a good portion doing some cleaning & laundry around here. Was hoping to do alot of organizing and pitching of Samantha's toys but that didn't work so well with her here. And now, were going to play some Old Maid and then I suppose find some supper.

My Scrap group picks a spotlight member each month. The "spotlighted person" answers a questionaire. I was picked for March so thought I'ld share :)

I'm a little behind but here's our spotlight member this month, Cami!! She is such a sweetheart and always has such kind words to say!!

If you could have lunch with anyone, dead or alive, who would it be and why? Well, my Grandpa because I miss him a whole lot & my Grandma because I never knew her.

Do you have any other hobbies other than scrapbooking? Well, spending time on the computer! I also love collecting music & finding new & different & forgotton things to listen to, I love a wide variety of music love surrounding myself with it daily. I love taking pictures of my daughter I just wish my photography skills were better. I also love playing board games & dominoes .....I would probably play these everyday if I had someone to play with.

What's the best thing that's happened to you? Being blessed with my dd Samantha. She is the light of my life! I can only hope that I bring half as much happiness to her life, as she has brought to mine in the past 7 years.

What would you order at Starbucks? I never have. I've had the bottled ones & they are ok but I'm not a big coffee drinker

What type of candy do you like best? Now, that's a loaded question! lol...as I am somewhat of a candy-a-holic I'ld have to say either almond m&m's or chocolate twizzlers

If you could spend an unlimited amount of money, what would be the top 5 things you would buy for YOURSELF?
1. A big huge successful scrapbooking store like Archivers so I would have all the scrappy supplies my heart desires every day!
2. A new beautiful home that we design exactly the way we like it. which doesn't necessarily have to be huge but would include rooms big rooms for each of us...a room big enough for Samantha & all her things to be well organized yet have lots of room to play, a big scrappy room for me, a room big enough for Ron to have a pool table & then an indoor swimming pool for all of us!
3. A life time of Merry Maids service
4. the computer of my dreams
5. a Cadillac Escalade
the top 5 for your Family?
1. Houses all around
2. Family Vaction for Everyone at Disney World
3. a pony for Samantha
4. Family Vactions to Hawaii
5. for Dh a big shop with all the tools imaginable & a boat

What is your favorite paper line in scrapbooking? hmmmmm?????don't know that I have a particular fav line but Junkitz is pretty close.

How did you meet your hubby and how long have you been together? We met almost 10 years ago (in June) 1996. We met at a bar of all places. I was out with some of my friends & he was out with some of his. My friends & I have a running joke because at the time 3 out of 4 of us were single & had recently joked about wishing it was as easy as saying "hey, I'm gonna find a man!" So, when I got in the car that nite I said "Girls, tonite I'm gonna find me a husband!" Of course, we all laughed. Well, one of my friends knew one of his & so it turned into a group of people just hanging out & dancing. He kept asking me to dance but I didn't really think he was my type so I trying to pawn him off on my cousin. Well, I figured he was more her type than mine. And they did dance a couple of times but he just kept asking me. Anway, I finally danced with him & we hit it off! Talked all nite & he told me he was going away for the weekend and would call me Monday nite after he got home from work. I left thinkin "yeah right budddy! I've heard that before" But I was wrong. Started dating & got engaged at Christmas. We got married Sept 25, 1997.

Do you stay at home or work? SAHM & I love it.

What is the one thing you'd like to accomplish/do before you leave this earth? Besides be a good mom & get some grandchildren to spoil...I mean love(LOL!)? FINISH MY SCRAPBOOKS!

Do you have any pets?nope

What are some of your favorite "things"? (besides scrapbook related items) A necklace Samantha gave me for my bday 2 years ago, it has 2 amythest heart shaped stones...I rarely take it off,
my wedding ring & anniversary ring,
teddy bears,
hugs & smooches,
hearing Samantha laugh,
ChapStick....oh man, gotta have my Chap Stick (dh says I'm addicted!)
Raspeberry ice tea,
the color purple,
Chicken Alfredo Pizza,
watching Reba on tv....man that show makes me laugh my butt off
my cameras,
dancing around the house with my daughter,
snuggling in a blanket fresh from the dryer,
angel food cake with cool whip & strawberries,
finding time to read a scrappy magazine from cover to cover,
playing my 2 fav videos games...Ms Pac Man & Tetris,
a tall glass of coke with ice,
french tip acrylic nails,
yummy or relaxing smelling candles,
flowers (wish I could afford to fill my home with fresh flowers everyday),
fresh oranges & red grapes when they are in season,
my collection of floppy sweatshirts,
the "Look Ma, new Hands" hand lotion from Bath & Body Works,
hearing " I love you"
shopping,
my Melissa Etheridge cd's cuz she's my fav artist,
hanging around the house in my pj's,
a framed picture of me & my Grandpa when I was about 6 weeks old,
collecting family photos and all the pictures of my beautiful daughter.

Anything else you'd like to share? I'ld like to say I'm honored to be the highlight member for March. Thanks to Danni for choosing me this month & working so hard every month to spotlight a different member for us to get to know better, you're doing a great job Danni. This was so fun!

ok, so here's my story with the dog!

Yesterday morning I dropped Samantha off at school and then went to the grocery store. As I'm coming up my street, nearing my house I see this black & white dog standing on the opposite side of street adjacent to my driveway. I think, "I hope that dog doesn't dart out in front of me as I'm pullin in" and then I kinda stop & pull in slowly...being cautious ya know ;-)
So I get out ( the dog is obviously barking in my general direction!) and I go around to the passenger side to get my groceries. As I'm doing this, the dog runs into my yard and is standing just a few feet from me barking & growling. I grab one bag in each hand and hurry to go open my house door. I get in & the dog rushes at my door barking louder & growling at me. I close the door thinking he will go away. Nope, he just stands there in my yard and yaps. And I remember I have groceries in the car that are going to spoil. So I think he's probably not going to bite.....just go quickly, don't look at the dog & get them. But as I open the door & come part way out he rushes at me barking & growling & baring his teeth at me. Obviously, very mad. He's only about a 20lb. or so dog. His face kinda reminds me of the dog from Frasier, he's short haired too same as that Eddie. But he's bigger & taller. So I try to yell at him to "go away". Every time I open the door he rushes at me. Now, I'm kinda getting upset & I don't want my groceries to spoil. I have never seen this dog before & have no idea who he belongs to. So, I decide I have no other choice but to call animal control. Even as I disappear into the house to call, this dog just stays in my yard barking & barking & obvioulsy getting more mad by the minute. So, I'm on the phone with the police explaining the situation & she asks me if that's him she can hear barking & I say yes. Then I tell her to listen as I open the door & attempt to step out. He does the same thing! She says OMG....we'll dipatch someone. I say I feel stupid because he's a small dog but small dog or not I don't want to get bit. So, I hang up and wait. The dog doesn't quit. I decide I'll call my husband while I'm waiting. He's laughing at me, tells me to get the broom and if he rushes me to hit him with it. yeah, I really don't want to do that so I wait. So, the guy from animal control shows up and that dog just sat there & growled at me till he saw the guy approaching him and then he started to back off sideways but he still was just growling & barking. Soon they disappeared beside my house & I can hear they getting farther away. After a while I hear the dog stop barking. I wait for the guy to come back & he comes back without the dog. I asked him if he finally ran off or did he find the owner. He said yeah, found the owner 4 houses down.. I told him I didn't know who he belonged to. So then he says says to me "Excuse my language but that dog's a b**t**d" He told me he felt that dog really has a mouth on him & is not nice & that he talked to the lady about it. apparently she was home with her 3 day old baby & the dog got out. but the baby was crying so she couldn't leave it to go get the dog. She had her coat on but was still in her pj's apparently. ( but then I started thinking "who leaves a baby in the house, crying or not, to go get a dog but whatever! not the point of my story i guess) and that she feels bad and that it won't happen again.
but they are not listed in the phone book, so maybe I should write her a note saying I'm not really mad or whatever. oh, I don't know

So then I start thinking "why me?" is this my punishment for not wanting to own a dog??? My husband would probably say yes, so I'm not asking him. But yeah, in a nutshell that's my story.

Things from this week I forgot to blog about the other day

So our babysitting went quite well. Cooper is a total doll & we enjoyed having him here, even Ron & Samantha. At one point he was sitting in his bouncy chair watching Samantha on the computer and making noises and she would talk to him. She said to me "Mom, come here!" She was playing a My Little Pony game where you can color the ponies diffierent colors & dress them up. she said "what do you think of this pony?" I said "Oh, that's very beautiful Samantha" she said "Thanks, Cooper did it!".....she even wanted to bring him to show & share, but I had to be home waiting for the guy to look at the dryer. Then she was talking to him and he made a noise (he's 2 months old) so she said "He said his first word! I can't wait to tell Karla!"
Ron told me not to be getting any ideas! "Like I can just go out and get one by myself!" I think I need something from him, that's just probably not going to happen! LOL =)
Saturday we went to an elderly folks home and played Bingo with the residents for part of our community sevice for Girl Scouts. It was a little hectic because there was a communication break down between the 2 adults in charge. But everything went really well. Samantha was a little shy but she did ok. She sat next to really nice lady named Bert who helped her with her cards. It was a really good experience for her.
Sunday was Samantha's spring dance recital. She did really good & had fun doing it. At one point she was helping this little girl next to her who's shoe had come untied so while the rest of the cast was dancing these 2 little girls were just in thier own little world!....it was cute :)
Grandma & Auntie B were able to come support her and the program was good & lasted almost 2 hours.
She had been undecided if she was going to enroll in the next session which starts in June, I told her since she finshed this obligation, whether she continues is up to her. She decided the next morning that yes she wants to stay in dance because she wants to get really good like those "big girls"
This week has really flown by. I had 2 cousins that had baby girls. Yesterday, I got locked in my house by a neighbors dog & had to call animal control. Tomorrow is Samantha's fun nite at school. I will be helping with tattoo booth. Saturday we have a birthday party to go to so I have to get that blanket made soon, haven't even started. But I like to sit down & do it in one sitting since I lay it out on the living room floor till I'm done. Easy to keep it straight that way.
So, I guess I'll post some pictures of the dance recital.

Pictures From the Dance Recital

The first one Samantha is kinda of in the middle. She's the one with her hand up waving at us :)

The next one she is the front far right with her arms out in front of her. She's really Movin' & a Groovin!

And the last one is all the dancers together for the finale. You can see Samantha down there in front tying that girls shoe.

Home today with a sick little one

Samantha woke up at 3:30am throwing up & was up till 7. All I've accomplished today was laundry, which I was behind on anyway because I just got my dryer fixed yesterday after it being broke for 5 days. good thing I wasn't really behind when it broke. I am such a "clean laundry girl" it may not always be put away but I like to have lots of clean laundry so I pretty much keep up with it. I feel like I should get off the computer and try to do some scrapping or cleaning in my room but I am so tired. My cousin had a baby girl yesterday...Nora Jane they named her so we have a new baby in the family. I would like to make her something but I'm not sure what. She is not a scrapbooker at all. I'm thinking of a blanket but I know her mom is into crafty stuff like that and would hate to duplicate. I need to make another tie blanket for my friends son who is turning 8 on Saturday. So, hopefully Samantha will be feeling better tomorrow so I can go get the stuff & get started on it. I've decided since the baby got one, that is what I will do for all her kids birhtdays this year. HOepfully, I can keep up the mojo! But they are so easy so I think I will :) At least I won't have to figure out supper as Ron is working late tonite.

Will there be baby blues?

This week I'll get to watch lil Cooper. My friend Karla went to Las Vegas for her sisters wedding and has left this precious lil guy in the care of some of her friens. I picked him up about 2 hours ago. Then Tracey will pick him up about 10pm & take him home for the nite and tomorrow. Then I will get him back tomorrow evening and keep him the nite and Friday all day till about 8pm.
When I picked Samantha up from school today she was telling me that one of the little girls in her class had her mom bring her new baby brother (9days old) for her show & share today. "So we got to see the baby mom" she said. I said "Well, we are getting a baby at house for awhile, we are going to watch Cooper while his mom is gone." She says to me with just this serious look on her face "well, I am not changing the poopy diaper!" I reassured her that no she didn't have to, I would take care of that. Then she said "yeah, you can change the stinky diaper all day & think of 'me' when I was a baby!" I just laughed...oh, the things she comes up with!
Ron thinks I will get the baby blues. I think I will be fine :)

Trying to Update my blog! argh (insert publish blog now)

HOla!
Hmmmm...let's see????

Our get together last weekend with our friends went really well. My friend Karla asked me if I could try to make some announcemnts for her new baby. So, we played around on the computer for the afternoon & this is what we came up with.

Well, last week when I went to pick Samantha up at school, I slipped on the ice...fell right on butt with my ankle underneath me (and I'm no skinnie minnie, so that hurt!) right into a mud puddle & I had just washed my coat so of course I got to take it all apart & wash it again.
So then last week was spring break I thought I would get scrappin done...WRONG! All my grand plans went awry. First my mom decided it would be a good idea for us to go visit my brother. So me, Samantha & my mom hit the road. He lives almost 4 hours away. Can we say bad idea????? My mother complained the whole way there & the whole way back.....my car's uncomfortable (yet, she wouldn't even try adjusting her seat...no of course not...then you can't complain all day!!!argh!), too cold, too hot, "are we even going to make it there (cuz the car made a slight noise)," we're too poky, complained about the music....just everything. But the hightlight was I got to spend time with my brother which I always enjoy. Samantha really loves her Uncle Trevor & Auntie B and she enjoys any time that she gets to spend with them. My brother, sister and I are all really close as far as being siblings go. WE would & have done anything for each other. Despite the fact, that I wonder how we ever managed to grow up without killing each other! Here is a picture of us as kiddos. Me on the left my sister on the right & baby brother in the middle.
We don't have many pictures together so I cherish the ones we do have. I was looking for a cute one I thought I had of the 3 of us in our lil swimmers. But I can't find it.

Ok on with my weekly story! lol
friday, Samantha and I spent waaaay too much time at the mall doing nothing really. altho, I did get her a cute little shelf thing with baskets for her room at Target.
Saturday morning I am sitting at the computer. I go to stretch & totally wrench my back. Major PAIN!!!! So, I take lots of ibuprofen, tylenol & asprin to help ease the pain. I thought maybe if I attempted to keep moving it would work it self out so after a hot shower, Samantha & I head out to meet my aunt for lunch. By tghe time I headed home, I was in so much pain I thought I was literally pass out driving. Finally, call the doctors office at about 4:30. Not only do they treat me like some junkie off the street they tell me if I'm going to come in today to do it before 5 but basically they can't do anything for me anyway because they are not allowed to give out pain meds. Which I understand....to a point! It's so stupid. Needless to say, I didn't go running on in there. Well I try the ice which semi works enough for me to take a nap but as soon as the "numb" wears off, it's back to pain. So, about 11:20pm I make a last chance trip to Wal-Mart to get a heating pad. I'm in pain if I move or sit still so figure I might as well try the heating pad. Which didn't work either. But it's slowly getting better. Some times it doesn't hurt at all & then the next minute it's throbbing. But I think for the most part today it's much better. Afterall, it is Wednesday :)
Yesterday my Aunt Suzie came to scap with me. Well, we got a late start so I didn't finish my page I was working on. But I enjoyed the chit chat, I like it when we get together. Also yesterday, I forgot Samantha's teachers b-day....mega OOOPSSS!! I felt so bad. Guess she will be getting one heck of a "end of the year" present! lol...well, if I remember.....
So which leads me to Girl Scout Dilemma to top it all off. We drive to Girls Scouts last nite & there wasn't a meeting (this was the second time I've done it!) Which I will admit, I am forgetful....I know I am. But when we signed up in January they told me it was every other Tues nite, with only week there being an exception & it would be on Monday nite. so I get home & look at the schedule which is not a normal schedule (ya, know the kind that looks like a calendar???) it's hand written with days written out & who brings snack and doodles all over it...very confusing. The last meeting was Feb 21, the next meeting is March 21.....that is NOT every other Tues. Then at the last meeting Samantha left her bag with her petals in it at the school where we have the meeting. I went back the next morning not there. and no one turned it in. So now I'll have to buy another pack cuz we're missing 2 or 3 petals. Why do people have to be like that???? even kids, I mean come on! And all this wouldn't be such a trauma in my life it weren't for the upset 6 year old. Oh well, what can one do?!?!?!?!?
And an hour later I'm done. Because I had to keep saving as I went along afraid the computer would freeze up on me any minute & of course when I'm expecting it, it doesn't do it! lol
And that's my update :)

They say, this town
The stars stay up all night
Well I don't know, can't see 'em
For the glow of the neon lights
And it's a long way from here
To the place where the home fires burn
Well, it's two thousand miles and one left turn

Dear Mom and Dad, please send money
I'm so broke that it ain't funny
Well, I don't need much, just enough to get me through
Please don't worry cause I'm alright
See I'm playin' here at the bar tonight
Well, this time I'm gonna make our dreams come true
but, I love you more than anything in the world
Love, your baby girl

Blacktop, blue sky, big town
Full of little white lies, well
Everybody's your friend
You can never be sure
They'll promise fancy cars and diamond rings
All sorts of shiny things but
Girl, you'll remember what your knees are for

Dear Mom and Dad, please send money
I'm so broke that it ain't funny
Well, I don't need much, just enough to get me through
Please don't worry cause I'm alright
See I'm playin' here at the bar tonight, well
This time I'm gonna make our dreams come true
but, I love you more than anything in the world
Love, your baby girl

I know that I am on my way
Well, I can tell everytime I play
And I'll know it's worth all the dues I pay
When I can write to you and say

Dear Mom and Dad, I'll send money
I'm so rich that it ain't funny
Well, it ought to be more than enough to get you through
Please don't worry cause I'm alright
See I'm stayin' here at the Ritz tonight
Whatta ya know, we made our dreams come true
And there are fancy cars and diamond rings
But you know that they don't mean a thing
Well, they all add up to nothin' compared to you
Well, remember me in ribbons and curls
I still love you more than anything in the world
Love, your baby girl, ah yeah

Your baby girl
Your baby girl

Dreams come true
