Thank Goodness for Fleece

Yup, pretty amazing stuff! My friend calls me this morning saying that the birthday party for her little guy Kaiden, is tomorrow. He will be 6 on Monday. Kaiden is my favorite of her kids....ya know ;-) Is that even right to have favorites, when it comes to a friends' children?!?!?!? I dunno know but he is :-D He is totally into horses and cowboys, anything having to do with the farm really. He is a big farm boy & loves to be there.

Anyway, this is the friend that I decided I would make fleece blankets for her and her kids birthdays this year. So, this is the blanket for Kaiden. Happy Birthday Lil' man :-D

Kara's Kollage Blog Challenge

Blog challenge for today - tell about your wedding day or other special day

Sept. 25, 1997. It was a really beautiful September day. In ND, you can never be too sure! We got married in a Methodist Church even tho neither one of us is Methodist. I was raised Catholic but only attended church occasionally so I didn't have a regular church. Some of my relatives are memebers of this church & I had gone a couple of times & really liked the Pastor. He agreed to marry us. It was very small & intimate, just friends and family. My sister was my maid of Honor and my good friend, my only bridesmaid. DH had his friend as his best man & his youngest son as groomsman. The day started with Ron surprising me with my wedding band. When we went to pick out my wedding band he wanted me to do pick it out. I debated between 2 that I liked....even tho one I liked so much better. I decided on the cheaper one, as we were paying for everything ourselves. DH is so not a "credit" type of guy. So that morning he gave to me....my finished ring. He got the one I really wanted! Oh man, I cried! Then me & my girls did a lil shopping and went to get our hair done. Then we had lunch at our house with the guys. In my usual fashion, I was a lil late getting to the church so pictures were kinda short but the wedding started on time. My little brother walked me down the isle & gave me away. My aunt made my very simple dress. My uncle & aunt (his wife) sang the music & my uncle played his guitar. They are actually in a Country/Western band. I had a red rose on the alter in memory of my Grandpa who had died earlier in the year. It was a beautiful ceremony. I felt so loved. I still cry most of the time when I watch the video.
The wedding was followed by a small simple reception. We had a Karoake DJ for our "band" I think everybody had a fun with time the Karaoke. I didn't sing... I DON'T SING! Many musical people in my family, but I'm not one of them. DH sang "I can't Help Falling In Love with You" to me. I loved it (of course) but felt a little embarrassed being the center of attention.

OK, I was going to share some pics but blogspot is being a PITA. So, maybe I'll get to that later! Knowing what I know now there would have been a couple of changes. But my only regret, if I could change 1 thing & one thing only.....I would have gone with a professional photographer. I sooo want those beautiful pictures now that I'm a scrapbooker.

Blog Challenge from Kara's Collage

Blog Challenge: Stories yet to be Scrapbooked…

Challenge:What is one story….. you have yet to scrapbook??
Something you wanna preserve for others to know about/read in the years to come?

About my Grandpa....everything I remember about him & what he meant to me.
I think I keep putting it off because I'm going to bawl!

Well, the Birthday was good :)

Had the step-kid & some friends over for some very delicious BBQ chicken! Have I mentioned I love me some Emerills Sweet Bam-B-Q????? oh yeah, sooo YUMMY!
Then it got late and the kids left earlier than expected & there we were finally getting to cake at 10pm. Now, I have this whole cake just calling my name 24/7. And "I do love me some Cake!"
But Samantha would have been so disappointed had we not done the cake. She picked the little decorations out all by herself and made most of the cake. I of course had to help with the oven and mixer. She won't do the mixing, she doesn't like the vibrations and thinks she's going to drop it! lol
Samantha made him a card & wanted the cake decorations to be the present from her. Plus, she told him that part of his gift....she was going to share her Hoberman Sphere with him! lol....she gets such funny ideas sometimes but they are hers :)
I ended up getting for him (my hard to buy for man that he is) 4 shirts and a new BBQ tool. Not very creative but he seemed to like them.

It's my Honey's Birthday

So far, not sure what the plans are. Samantha and I are baking a cake for him. We will probably do something for dinner but not sure yet if it will be going out or doing something at home.......whatever he wants. He doesn't really seem to like to make a big deal about his birthday & he is super hard to buy for. It's always my biggest PITA, figuring out what to get him. Altho, last year I thought I did pretty good. Whatever we do, I hope he has a good day. I luv my hubby & can't really picture my life without him. I hope he knows that he is loved. I love how he makes me laugh, even when it drives me nuts! lol
And I love listening to him play his guitar because I know how happy it makes him.
45.....HAPPY BIRTHDAY HONEY :)

Something Borrowed, Something New...it's called scrapblog.com

GO TO: Here

if ya wanna check mine out! Thanks to my scrappy friend Kim, she actually found it & I was like "hey, I gotta check that out!" Sort of a way to "wet your wings" with digital stuff. I just made one premade page so far. The page was already made except one of the pink flowers was right beside Samantha's head. and there was another big embellishement in the right corner but I deleted that one. moved the smaller one to the left corner and added another one with it. But they have premade pages & embellishments you can add to them and then you can also take stuff off if you don't like it. and apparently can upload your own stuff too but I haven't played around with that yet. It was fun! But I have to change my screen settings on my computer to use it but not to view it. So then when I was done with that....the writing on my computer was so small, it was hard to see! oh well, something else to play with :)

I'm trying to decide if I should purchase this scrapbook software.

Scrapbook Max! It came on my Scrapbook Answers cd this month. A good digital program like photoshop is a lil out of my budget right now. I did really like how easy it was to use. Some of the stuff I've bought just turns out to be a major PITA. I'm sharing what I made even tho it has that goofy black thing on it. And I can't take credit for making it as the page was premade. All I had to do was a select a picture to go in it & add it in. No creativity there! lol And the picture is so bad, it's not the software. It's one of those off a Wal-Mart photo session cd...they are so crappy. I know they put it like that so that you can't make copies. but it's really not good!

I really love my daughters smile and laugh in this picture. and this cd is all I have since I didn't order the pics...duh me!
But as soon as I saw that LO on the software, I knew exactly what picture I wanted to try in there. And lo & behold, it was like that LO was made just for my precious picture :)
ok maybe now, I'm getting a little silly ;)

Todays LO.... when am I going to scrap-evolve??? LOL :-D

I used 3 pp from my DCWV Stack. I always buy them on sale. But then I end up with alot of paper, I haven't a clue how to use. These are so bold & so bright. As I was thumbing thru pics last nite, trying to decide what to scrap and I saw these & immediately thought of this paper. I am really surpised that I did decide to use it...all of it! lol
