Kinda bored tonite but not really motivated so sharing some pics of my week!

First of all this my baby cousin Philip Micheal. He is such a good kid, I just love him. I remember the day is was born like it was yesterday. And now he is 18, joined the National Guard last year & went off to boot camp & a recent High School Grad. Super proud of ya Phil!!

Here's his grad picture, too! He's about 6'3" but when he smiles I still remember that little boy full of smiles & laughter.


Samantha's class went on 2 field trips this week & I went along to chaperone. We walked to the DQ & got treats, that was fun. And we went to the zoo on the bus. I haven't rode on a school bus in 14 years....oh, that's a long time!

This from soccer the other day, she picked me some flowers from the lilac tree.


These are from tonite as she was getting ready for bed. She had a broken nail on her toe & I got the clipper and nail file. She let me clip it but she wanted to file it herself. So we were just sitting on her bed talking. She says to me, "Mom, isn't this so fun, just us girls? It's like a girl party! Only I think we need some music."

Samantha got flowers from Auntie B for Kindergarten graduation. She also got cards with money from Grandma & Unlce Trevor, Great Aunt Stephie & family and cousin Mel & family.

5 Things My Scrapbooking Says About Me

A Chelsea's CMK challenge! What you would want people to know or think of you when you were no longer here. This is a tough one but I'm going to give it a shot.
1. I love my family and friends.
2. Somewhat color challenged. Have a hard time coordinating colors but I keep trying.
3. Samantha is the most important person in my life.
4. I care about preserving all my memories.
5. I just plain like to scrapbook. I just do.



Ok, so now apparenlty I have to prove to Bobbie that I AM color challenged! lol

Also I've noticed that I have a "thing" for turning the matte sideways under my photos. I've noticed I do this alot & I mean A-LOT! any theories on that anyone???

But every single LO is still very special to me. Even if I did sticker sneeze a time or thousand toooo many!

It actually photographed kinda dark, the clipboard & flowered paper are actually a much lighter pink (for the BG fans, will surely notice!!)
This was much more fun to make than I thought it would be.

Then here's a couple of pictures this morning....Samantha & her teacher Mrs. B & then Mrs. B showing the clipboard to the class. She started to read it to them & read like the first 2 lines.... then she stopped & said she couldn't finish or she would cry & she would read it later. When I got home I realized why the pictures turned out so goofy...my camera was turned the scenery setting.

I got suprised with an early Mother's Day Present

My oldest step-son & his wife surprised me with some lilies from ProFlowers.com
They are so pretty & I am enjoying them alot. I've never gotton lilies before so I didn't realize they were so fragrant & I love that! I love walking into the house & just smelling fresh flowers. Ron thinks they stink (but what does he know, he's a man afterall)

Blog Topic of the Day.....All my scrappy friends are doing it!

FAVORITE TEACHER
I must say, I feel truly lucky to have just had great great teachers. I never remember one I hated or even didn't like. They were always good to me, as far back as I can remember. My fave teacher tho would have to be Julie White. She was my English teacher. I always loved English..it was one of my most fav classes. Anyway, It wasn't very long and I started calling her Julie, never Miss White. I just called her Julie or started talking her so I didn't have say "Miss White". that would have felt too weird! She wasn't that much older than I & we were friends. I would love to get in touch with her but wouldn't even know where to start. I mean 15 years is a long time. I will always remember our "road trip" & the blast we had in Senior English. Good Times! Thank you Julie White (wherever you are) for having been such a wonderful teacher. Honorable mentions go to Mrs. Peterson (very very nice lady & teacher), Mrs. Pearson, Mr. Titus (Good teacher even though I absolutely hated History & fantastic sense of Humor...I'll always remember), Mr. Thelen, Mrs. Carlson (who was greatly misunderstood, really a nice & funny lady, Mr. Morris for all the super help with math & Mr. Simeneau (helping him run the latchkey program was one of the best experiences of HS & my life. Happy Teacher Appreciation Week!

My Scrapbook Retreat Weekend

I'm not a fast scrapper but I am happy with what I got done, 10 pages. of course, it would have been nice to get more done & I would have liked to but (for me) I was very productive. I've gone to crops & done absolutely nothing. We just had such a great time on the retreat. Small group & we all know each other so it was very comfortable. We went to Medora which is famous for it's Medora Musical We stayed in a house & it was very quaint & nice. Very good size, perfect for our group! Comfortable beds, which is always a plus for me because I don't sleep well when I'm not in my own bed. there wasn't too much going on there because they are still in the off season. But hey, we were there to scrap! Sat morning we did get to do a little shopping after breakfast. Samantha got Ron a hat for a souvenier & I got her a a porcelian doll, it's an angel on a wooden swing & it hangs from the ceiling. I need to get Ron to get a hook up for it yet, then I can take a picture. I thought it was very pretty, something to add to her room & a great deal for $11. One of the stores did have some scrappy stuff but I didn't see anything I really really wanted & Samantha thought she needed another stuff dog. I tried to talk her out of it but that didn't happen. There wasn't any fits or tears but she kept giving me those sad eyes. She wanted 2 of them & in the end I gave in & let her have 1. She was being really good & entertaining herself. It helped that she had the huge living room upstairs all to herself. She immediately made her and her toys right at home :)
Then when we headed for home, I told her how proud of her I was for being so good & picking up all her stuff, packing it & loading it into the car all by herself. She said " Well Mom, you showed me that you care about me buying me this puppy even tho it was expensive & I wanted to do something nice for you to show you I care about you" AWWWWWW! It just touched my heart, I love that little girl so much! (the dog was $10)
Here's our group infront of the hotel where we went to eat our meals. The food was great! (sorry to my friends on diets) But oh, it was so good. The best chicken alfredo I've ever had, just awesome! Apparently the cook used to work on some cruise ship & he kept coming out of the kitchen peeking at us eating but never said anything. the breakfasts were good & even Samantha exclaimed "the best sausage ever" she had to tell daddy about it. Anyway the hotel is.....It's very rustic. Teddy Roosevelt stayed at this hotel during his stays to Medora. His room number was #501. We would have got to tour it but there were guests in it. But very small rooms, the ones we did see. Our rooms at the house were much bigger. And we would have had to do 3 flights of stairs to get to the scrappin room so we decided the house was a much much better deal. And much more private.
