Chelsea's Blog Challenge from Create My Keepsake

Create My Keepsake
Chelsea

1. Tell Me Why your blog is named what it is. A Place For My Very Random Thoughts Because it just is a place for my random thoughts and espcially started out that way. I post about my life and about me and my scrapping. I just blog whatever I feel like. I'm also into meme's and blog challenges.

2. Tell me one person you admire as a scrapper/artist and why. My scrappy friend Tanya. I just love her style, and she is also a very sweet and caring person. I love her style yet don't feel intimidated. I feel welcomed into her layouts. They are true to herself. Here's a link to her blog. http://princess-tanya-is-in.blogspot.com/

3. What is one thing you've never tried on a layout or project that you'd like to try? Haven't tried using directional embellishments but would like to.

4. What is your favorite time of year to scrap and why? I don't have a favorite time, I like to scrap any time.

5. List 2 other people's scrappy blogs that you enjoy reading and post a link to them!! ACK! this is such a toughie but I will choose my scrappy friend Bobbie
http://scrapbookbobbie.blogspot.com/
Another wonderful scrapper, Amy. She is very creative and even tho she is busy she created a wonderful blog ring for some terrific gals and I have really enjoyed being part of it.
http://wilgeshouse.blogspot.com/
The girls probably post the most often of the scrappy blogs I vist but I have about several blogs that I visit on a daily basis. So it is hard to narrow it down to only 2.

My "Mother of the Year" Award Dreams Dashed by J-E-L-L-O

It all started the other day in the grocery store as we were perusing the isles. Samantha spots the boxes of jello with the little pictures of the shaped jigglers on the front and asks "what's that mom?" She has never had jello. What??? you say, how deprived! lol... Well, not that she hasn't had the opportunity but every time it is offered to her she eagerly declines.
She tells me she doesn't like regular jello but she will try this kind :) So we decide jigglers will be made! how fun for us!!! Very, very red cherry jello to be exact :)
So at midnite, I decide ...."good idea Cami, make the jello now and it will be ready for tomorrow Samantha can have fun with the cookie cutters." Ahhhh, planning ahead is so good!
So, as I'm carefully carrying my humongous pan to the refrigerator which I made sure to clear a space first (you can't be too careful around jello ya know *wink* ) I notice one of my hairs has gotton into it.
well I can't stop mid flight to remove it so I go ahead and slide it 3/4 into the refrigerator. let go.... it was fine, so I reach to get a fork out of the drawer to get that darn hair out and the whole thing then just went SPLOOOSH! all over...well, EVERYTHING including me

ok, who would have thunk that a pan of jello could be so unstable???? certainly not I

Good thing, Ron came to investigate and then decided to help me clean up, as it was well past his bedtime at midnite. took us over 2 hours of mopping and paper towels and everything you can imagine. We had to move the fridge & china cabinet...it was such a MESS!!! I mean when Ron came up and looked at me, I was literally standing in a puddle of red jello! I have no doubt that even after 2 hours of cleaning (and that was just last nite.....I spent another hour yesterday and then today another once over with the bleach...because it just didn't feel quite right (and I certainly don't need lil visitors), that a year from now, I will be finidng red jello somewhere

and nope didn't think to get the camera

"It's Scientifical"

Samantha had me blow up a ballon for her the other day. Next thing I know, I can hear her talking and getting excited about something in the kitchen. Sure enough, somehow she had gotton that balloon above the air vent & it was hovering. She was so darn excited. Then she started telling us all about her science theories :)
At the end of her explanation she asks daddy..."is that really true, what I just said?" and daddy said, "yeah, pretty much"........oh man, she was stoked!
She was beaming from ear to ear and piped up "I guess it is true, your smarter when your not watching tv. Like me, I'm not watching tv and I'm a scientifical genius!"
Then she had to get pen and paper and draw out her scientifical theories :)

Layout I did last nite

for a scrappy group challenge. Didn't get it done in time to enter it but at least I got something done. The challenge was to use a heart of some kind on a layout. I plan to spend most of the weekend "Gettin' scrappy with it!"

For Kara's blog Challenge

WHAT WAS YOUR FIRST JOB? BLOG ABOUT IT.....

My first job was I ran a miniature put put golf course at seasonal park where we lived. It was just the summer months but every day I opened it and basically sat there bored off my beehind! lol......no boss around, just me :D
I took the weedeater to the grass when it got too long. It was fun when the weekends came and my friends were around to keep my company.
At the end of the month, I tallied all the money and gave the owner his half. It wasn't a bad first job.

Layout I did for Scrap101 challenge & actually won

I just love how this came out. thanks to KJ for the mega inspiration & wonderful ideas. hers is waaay better than mine :)

The paper is CM Perfect Fit Reds. the flower is a punchie I got from a scrappy friend (Thank you Miss Bobbie!!) and the monogram is a wooden letter I painted.

Ron was all trying to "add to it" he thinks it's too plain or doesn't have enough pictures. KInda funny the way he was diggin thru my goodies. Then later I opened a drawer when he came in & he was all "hey, I didn't know you had all that!" lol
yes, surely he would have found the perfect thing to correct it for me.

AWESOME SCRAPPIN SONG!!!! I'm determined, I have to scrap this song :)
Love, love, luv it!

To the teller down at the bank
You're just another checking account
To the plumber that came today
You're just another house
At the airport ticket counter
You're just another fare
At the beauty shop at the mall
Well you're just another head of hair
Well that's alright, that's okay
If you don't feel important, honey
All I've got to say is.

Chorus:
To the world
You may be just another girl
But to me
Baby, you are the world.

To the waiter at the restaurant
You're just another tip
To the guy at the ice cream shop
You're just another dip
When you can't get reservations
'Cause you don't have the clout
Or you didn't get an invitation
'Cause somebody left you out
That's alright, that's ok
When you don't feel important honey
All I've got to say is.

Chorus:
To the world
You may be just another girl
But to me
Baby, you are the world.

You think you're one of millions but you're one in a million to me
When you wonder if you matter, baby look into my eyes
And tell me, can't you see you're everything to me.

That's alright, that's ok
When you don't feel important honey
All I've gotta say is.

Chorus:
To the world
You may be just another girl
But to me
Baby, you are the world...

9 Things I enjoyed about our Holiday Weekend

1. Quiet and relaxing

2. My sister, her friend Jackie & Jackie's little Kaydence came to visit and for BBQ. I was so busy with the food, I forgot to get my camera out but we had a nice visit. I loved having them here.

3. Cherries and Dirt Cake! I love cherries andI only buy them when their in season & on sale because their so expensive and Dirt Cake (yummmm-my!)

4. We found a really awesome spot to watch the fireworks, so close we felt like they were just for us :)
I love fireworks, my dream is to one day see a really big show! Samantha loves them too! And to hear her laugh and get so excited over every snap, crackle, pop & sparkle is just amazing.

5. Samantha was ready for bed after her big day and actually said she was tired and asked to go to bed.

6. Independence. America's Birthday. I know alot of times it feels like we take our independence for granted. But I know how blessed I am to be born in a land of freedom. I am truly proud to be an American :)
Big "THANK YOUS" to our service men & women!!!

7. When Samantha informed us that the Easter Bunny at the mall where you get your picture taken, "is just a regular man in bunny costume." Samantha, how do you know that, we say???? "Because when I was sitting on his lap, I looked into his mouth & it was a HUMAN mouth!"

8. I cleaned my house and caught up on laundry.

9. I love my family more each day and I am truly blessed by a wonderful little 7 year old.

Happy Holiday Weekend

Hope everyone is having a
wonderful holiday weekend!!!
Quiet here. Can you
believe it didn't dawn on me
that this is the holiday
weekend?!?!?! I kept
thinking, why are people
asking me about the 4th plans,
that's not till next week!
oIY!!!
There's a family reunion for
my moms side of the family
today but I think I've pretty
much decided not to go.
Which is not like me, I always
go as long as I can. Samantha
is just getting over a cold &
for some reason I'm in a funk.
We usually don't have big 4th
plans either, even tho I love
the 4th of July...we just never
do much. They have fireworks
at the fairgrounds after the
races and we go watch them.
and usually I take Samantha to
Wal-Mart and get patriotic photos.
They usually have a special &
sometimes an extra discount for
military. last year, I didn't get
them done for some reason, so I
would like to this year.
