I was out with some of my friends & he was out with some of his. My friends & I have a running joke because at the time 3 out of 4 of us were single & had recently joked about wishing it was as easy as saying "hey, I'm gonna find a man!" So, when I got in the car that nite I said "Girls, tonite I'm gonna find me a husband!" Of course, we all laughed. Well, one of my friends knew one of his & so it turned into a group of people just hanging out & dancing. He kept asking me to dance but I didn't really think he was my type so I trying to pawn him off on my cousin. Well, I figured he was more her type than mine. And they did dance a couple of times but he just kept asking me. Anway, I finally danced with him & we hit it off! Talked all nite & he told me he was going away for the weekend and would call me Monday nite after he got home from work. I left thinkin "yeah right budddy! I've heard that before" But I was wrong. Started dating & got engaged at Christmas. We got married Sept 25, 1997.
Do you stay at home or work? SAHM & I love it.

ok, so here's my story with the dog!
Yesterday morning I dropped Samantha off at school and then went to the grocery store. As I'm coming up my street, nearing my house I see this black & white dog standing on the opposite side of street adjacent to my driveway. I think, "I hope that dog doesn't dart out in front of me as I'm pullin in" and then I kinda stop & pull in slowly...being cautious ya know ;-)
So I get out ( the dog is obviously barking in my general direction!) and I go around to the passenger side to get my groceries. As I'm doing this, the dog runs into my yard and is standing just a few feet from me barking & growling. I grab one bag in each hand and hurry to go open my house door. I get in & the dog rushes at my door barking louder & growling at me. I close the door thinking he will go away. Nope, he just stands there in my yard and yaps. And I remember I have groceries in the car that are going to spoil. So I think he's probably not going to bite.....just go quickly, don't look at the dog & get them. But as I open the door & come part way out he rushes at me barking & growling & baring his teeth at me. Obviously, very mad. He's only about a 20lb. or so dog. His face kinda reminds me of the dog from Frasier, he's short haired too same as that Eddie. But he's bigger & taller. So I try to yell at him to "go away". Every time I open the door he rushes at me. Now, I'm kinda getting upset & I don't want my groceries to spoil. I have never seen this dog before & have no idea who he belongs to. So, I decide I have no other choice but to call animal control. Even as I disappear into the house to call, this dog just stays in my yard barking & barking & obvioulsy getting more mad by the minute. So, I'm on the phone with the police explaining the situation & she asks me if that's him she can hear barking & I say yes. Then I tell her to listen as I open the door & attempt to step out. He does the same thing! She says OMG....we'll dipatch someone. I say I feel stupid because he's a small dog but small dog or not I don't want to get bit. So, I hang up and wait. The dog doesn't quit. I decide I'll call my husband while I'm waiting. He's laughing at me, tells me to get the broom and if he rushes me to hit him with it. yeah, I really don't want to do that so I wait. So, the guy from animal control shows up and that dog just sat there & growled at me till he saw the guy approaching him and then he started to back off sideways but he still was just growling & barking. Soon they disappeared beside my house & I can hear they getting farther away. After a while I hear the dog stop barking. I wait for the guy to come back & he comes back without the dog. I asked him if he finally ran off or did he find the owner. He said yeah, found the owner 4 houses down.. I told him I didn't know who he belonged to. So then he says says to me "Excuse my language but that dog's a b**t**d" He told me he felt that dog really has a mouth on him & is not nice & that he talked to the lady about it. apparently she was home with her 3 day old baby & the dog got out. but the baby was crying so she couldn't leave it to go get the dog. She had her coat on but was still in her pj's apparently. ( but then I started thinking "who leaves a baby in the house, crying or not, to go get a dog but whatever! not the point of my story i guess) and that she feels bad and that it won't happen again.
but they are not listed in the phone book, so maybe I should write her a note saying I'm not really mad or whatever. oh, I don't know
So then I start thinking "why me?" is this my punishment for not wanting to own a dog??? My husband would probably say yes, so I'm not asking him. But yeah, in a nutshell that's my story.

Things from this week I forgot to blog about the other day
So our babysitting went quite well. Cooper is a total doll & we enjoyed having him here, even Ron & Samantha. At one point he was sitting in his bouncy chair watching Samantha on the computer and making noises and she would talk to him. She said to me "Mom, come here!" She was playing a My Little Pony game where you can color the ponies diffierent colors & dress them up. she said "what do you think of this pony?" I said "Oh, that's very beautiful Samantha" she said "Thanks, Cooper did it!".....she even wanted to bring him to show & share, but I had to be home waiting for the guy to look at the dryer. Then she was talking to him and he made a noise (he's 2 months old) so she said "He said his first word! I can't wait to tell Karla!"
Ron told me not to be getting any ideas! "Like I can just go out and get one by myself!" I think I need something from him, that's just probably not going to happen! LOL =)
Saturday we went to an elderly folks home and played Bingo with the residents for part of our community sevice for Girl Scouts. It was a little hectic because there was a communication break down between the 2 adults in charge. But everything went really well. Samantha was a little shy but she did ok. She sat next to really nice lady named Bert who helped her with her cards. It was a really good experience for her.
Sunday was Samantha's spring dance recital. She did really good & had fun doing it. At one point she was helping this little girl next to her who's shoe had come untied so while the rest of the cast was dancing these 2 little girls were just in thier own little world!....it was cute :)
Grandma & Auntie B were able to come support her and the program was good & lasted almost 2 hours.
She had been undecided if she was going to enroll in the next session which starts in June, I told her since she finshed this obligation, whether she continues is up to her. She decided the next morning that yes she wants to stay in dance because she wants to get really good like those "big girls"
This week has really flown by. I had 2 cousins that had baby girls. Yesterday, I got locked in my house by a neighbors dog & had to call animal control. Tomorrow is Samantha's fun nite at school. I will be helping with tattoo booth. Saturday we have a birthday party to go to so I have to get that blanket made soon, haven't even started. But I like to sit down & do it in one sitting since I lay it out on the living room floor till I'm done. Easy to keep it straight that way.
So, I guess I'll post some pictures of the dance recital.

Pictures From the Dance Recital
The first one Samantha is kinda of in the middle. She's the one with her hand up waving at us :)
The next one she is the front far right with her arms out in front of her. She's really Movin' & a Groovin!

And the last one is all the dancers together for the finale. You can see Samantha down there in front tying that girls shoe.

Home today with a sick little one
Samantha woke up at 3:30am throwing up & was up till 7. All I've accomplished today was laundry, which I was behind on anyway because I just got my dryer fixed yesterday after it being broke for 5 days. good thing I wasn't really behind when it broke. I am such a "clean laundry girl" it may not always be put away but I like to have lots of clean laundry so I pretty much keep up with it. I feel like I should get off the computer and try to do some scrapping or cleaning in my room but I am so tired. My cousin had a baby girl yesterday...Nora Jane they named her so we have a new baby in the family. I would like to make her something but I'm not sure what. She is not a scrapbooker at all. I'm thinking of a blanket but I know her mom is into crafty stuff like that and would hate to duplicate. I need to make another tie blanket for my friends son who is turning 8 on Saturday. So, hopefully Samantha will be feeling better tomorrow so I can go get the stuff & get started on it. I've decided since the baby got one, that is what I will do for all her kids birhtdays this year. HOepfully, I can keep up the mojo! But they are so easy so I think I will :) At least I won't have to figure out supper as Ron is working late tonite.
